Paula Banar

Paula Banar is CPM Consolidated Group’s Office Manager and Executive Assistant to James Long and Stephen Uhr. She has worked for CPM for 11 years, and has been instrumental in the development of the operations and administrations systems that have developed with the growth of the company. 

What drew you to your career?

After I started my career in events and hospitality, I was looking for a role that allowed a more balanced lifestyle. I moved into local council and then was given the opportunity to join the CPM team. With every stage of the company’s growth I’ve been given more responsibility and gained new skills and experience.

What is your favourite part of your role?

I love the people that I work with. I also like that every day is different, and the variety of work that comes from working across all of CPM’s business entities. I also love seeing the growth of the company and supporting the Corporate Services team and the wider team through the changes. 

What does unlocking hidden value mean to you?

To me unlocking hidden value comes from working with members of the Corporate Services Team and helping them realise the growth that they can have within the business – unlocking the opportunities for the team and the potential they have within themselves. 

What is your proudest achievement, greatest learning?

I’m proud that I was a part of the early days of CPM, when there was just a few of us in a small house in Down Street, and now we’re in a precinct that we manage and have almost 100 team members across all of the businesses. We’ve implemented systems and solved problems to support that growth and it’s a career highlight for me to have played a part in the continued success. 

What are your passions, hobbies, and interests outside of work?

I love spending time with my family and friends. I also love reading and puzzles, but with a busy family life, there’s not a lot of time for hobbies.
