What drew you to your career?

My career started in HR and having studied a commerce/law degree my intention was to work in employment law. After graduating I worked in different HR roles here and in the UK. Instead of focusing on employment law I enjoyed the generalist HR spectrum and never turned back. I love engaging with people, learning what makes them tick and how to encourage and motivate them. I was working on the Toowoomba Pipeline Project with James (Long) and joined him at CPM in 2010. I’ve always been involved in the HR side, but my role has grown with the business, and I’m now General Manager of Corporate Services for the broader CPM Consolidated Group.

What is your favourite part of your role?

As well as working with a great team day-to-day, I love facilitating events like our Quarterly Team Meetings, bringing together the wider CPM team and seeing them connect and collaborate. I love getting to hear the different stories and experiences from the talented people I work with.

What does unlocking hidden value mean to you?

When I think about unlocking hidden value, I think about it from a people perspective: getting to know our team members and getting them to think about the bigger picture, their potential within it and how they can contribute to the company’s success.

What is your proudest achievement, greatest learning?

A proud achievement for me was returning from maternity leave and transitioning back into a professional, corporate setting after time off with my daughter. That time was a considerable change in my career, as I returned to a new role and more responsibilities within the business.

What are your passions, hobbies, and interests outside of work?

I love going to ballet and dance performances (I loved dancing as a child and studied dance all the way through school). I also love dogs, and I enjoy going on little adventures with my cheeky Labrador Montgomery.
